Recently, I had the pleasure of coordinating a styled wedding at Tailwaters Lodge, a new Bristol, Tennessee wedding venue.
A new venue in East Tennessee
Tailwaters Lodge is a new Bristol, Tennessee Wedding Venue.
The Overlook offers a natural backdrop that shifts beautifully throughout the day. In the afternoon, the light is soft and airy. As golden hour approaches, everything warms—casting a glow across the hills and reflecting off the water below. And at sunset, the entire space feels like it pauses with you.
Imagine standing here, surrounded by your closest people, as the sky turns gold behind you.
No distractions. No excess. Just the two of you, the landscape, and the weight of what you’re promising to each other.
Like every space at Tailwaters Lodge, The Overlook was created with quiet intimacy in mind. It’s ideal for micro weddings and elopements—celebrations where connection matters more than scale, and where every detail feels intentional without needing to be overdone.
The beauty of The Overlook is that it doesn’t compete with your story. It holds it.
And when the sun begins to dip behind the mountains, you’ll understand exactly why so many couples choose to begin their forever here.

Great Blue Heron Cabin
The Great Blue Heron cabin is the ideal space for rehearsal dinners, small receptions, and getting ready for the ceremony. It has upper and lower decks that look out over the South Holston River. Inside are two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a separate space for the groom to get ready.

Forest ceremonies in Fernwood
Tucked away at the top of Tailwaters Lodge, Fernwood feels like stepping into a hidden world. Surrounded by towering trees and the quiet stillness of the forest, this ceremony space offers something rare: a sense of intimacy that feels both grounded and elevated at the same time.
During the day, Fernwood is soft and natural. Light filters through the trees, creating a gentle glow that moves with the breeze. The space feels organic and untouched, allowing your ceremony to take center stage without distraction. It’s the kind of setting where every detail feels intentional, yet nothing feels forced.
As evening approaches, Fernwood transforms.
Lanterns begin to glow, casting warm light along the aisle and throughout the surrounding woods. The forest shifts from bright and airy to quiet and romantic. Shadows dance between the trees. The air cools. Everything slows down. It’s not just beautiful—it’s immersive. Guests aren’t just watching your ceremony, they’re experiencing it with you.
This is what makes Fernwood so special.
It’s designed for couples who want something more than a traditional venue. For those drawn to nature, to meaningful moments, to an atmosphere that feels deeply personal. Whether you’re planning an intimate micro wedding or a heartfelt elopement, Fernwood creates a setting that naturally holds emotion and connection.
There’s no need to over-style a space like this. The forest does the work for you.
And when the lanterns come on, you’ll understand why so many couples fall in love with it before they even say “I do.”
