As a family photographer of ten years, I’ve had the privilege of watching so many families grow in front of my camera. What often begins as a one-time session turns into something much deeper over the years—shared history, familiar faces, and a front-row seat to the way a family evolves. The Crowders are one of those families, and every time I photograph them, it feels more meaningful than the last.
Over time, I’ve watched their children grow, their personalities come to life, and their connection as a family deepen. It’s never just about updating photos. It’s about documenting who they are in this exact moment—because the truth is, it won’t look the same next year.
There’s also a level of comfort that comes with time. The camera fades into the background. The kids don’t feel like they have to “smile” or perform, and the parents can simply be present with them. That’s where the real moments live—in the in-between. The laughter, the chaos, the quiet closeness. The way they reach for each other without thinking.
Sessions like this feel less like work and more like stepping into a story I’ve been trusted to tell. And that’s something I don’t take lightly. Because one day, these images will hold more than memories—they’ll hold a feeling. And somehow, with the Crowders, it just keeps getting better.
